Omron PLC families:
  • 1980s–1990s – CQM1, C200H (SYSMAC classic series)
    Typical use: legacy machines, long-running installations. Many models now discontinued / EOL.
  • 1990s–2000s – CS1 family
    Mid-range controllers that were a workhorse for many years; Omron has announced discontinuation for many CS1 parts (replacement guidance points to NX/CJ families). 
  • 2000s – CJ1 / CJ2 / CJ2M / CJ2H series
    Successors to CS1/C200H for many applications; many CJ variants continue to be supported but parts and specific modules have periodic discontinuation notices (check lifecycle). 
  • 2000s – CVM1 / CV series
    Older compact PLCs (now generally discontinued).

    Very popular compact PLC family; many CP/CP1 variants remain active and are still sold by Omron / distributors.
